The Cove

Rabbit - Hopper - Manson - Susie - Taz working the corner

The group is small. The day before took a big toll on everyone. It had been very windy and cold. Teresa was at the camp and not feeling well. Jack and Vinny were working to clean up tents that had been flooded. We handed over the lunches and clothes. Little did we know that Mary had left a message on Rick's phone asking that we stop down the road to see them. Sounds like her, Joe and Donny have moved there. Seems like Sandwich Day is shrinking but I'm so grateful that they are coming together for Church on Sundays. I gave Susie pictures that Cameo had developed for her. They were shots of the old camp site. Susie was so happy to get them. She started to get sad about the little house that they had to leave. She said that Jack was working on a new one. Rabbit wasn't doing so good. He is drinking and saying stupid things. I love Rabbit but I despise the alcohol. My patience was short with him on this day. Rabbit is a total different person when drinking. Like it or not...no matter who you are...how much you drink...the truth is the moment the first drop of alcohol hits yours system...you have been altered and you have opened the door for deception. Jesus called Satan the "Father of Lies"... which is another name for deception. Satan cannot enter unless you open the door. I just want to scream and start slamming doors shut!! But I can't do it for him...excuse me...just some old garbage trying to rise up. So with all said...my prayer is for all to take these last days one at a time...get before our God and make peace with him.

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the day approaching. --Hebrews 10:25

It has been a few weeks since I have been out on Sandwich Day and can see the toll the weather and circumstances have taken on the few that were at the Cove today. It's hard enough dealing with the day to day worldly things that are thrown at us every day all day. Throw in being without a home on top of the ever changing weather and it can drag you down. We find ourselves in back in the "Slow Fade"...When we are down and stray away from the Word, we find ourselves looking for "alternative" outlets.

Hold each other accountable with Love, Compassion and Strength so that we may all persevere and live the life that God has intended us to.

Hebrews 10:25 calls us to encourage each other and lean on each other...Without Christ, then each other, we will not persevere. Glory be to God that The Cove has become a place of worship on Sundays and I pray that continues to reach all those in the area who seek Him.
