Special Thanks: Mystery Angel, you are so faithful - juice boxes
Crew: Me and Rick
Menu: Sandwiches and juice
The Cove: Susie - Rabbit
I just realized that I have not written to Sandwich Day (3/11)...maybe every trip doesn't need to be written to...but maybe I'm just trying to make my excuse. Rabbit is pumped up with caffine and trying hard to control his drinking. I pray that someday he will understand that he cannot control it...until he stops...it will always control him. We all have something that is controlling us...it's our choice of what that will be.
3/17/08 (Monday) - Tomorrow is Sandwich Day again...big rain storms are in the forecast. I am going to take sandwiches today as I know that everyone will be trying to stay dry tomorrow. The sandwiches are not made so I put the loaf of bread and sandwich meat and one last package of juice boxes in a grocery bag. This week they will just have to make their own!

The Cove: Jack-Hopper-Taz-Ryan-Manson-Rabbit
It was good to see Jack. He has been working to get the new camp set up. The weather has been a mixture of winds and rain and more is expected. He is staying sober and his eyes are clear. Rabbit is working the corner. Hopper gave me a verse, James 1:12, he said that it reminded him of me. "God blesses the people who patiently endure testing..." He said that I was patient. Out of all the descriptions that can be made, I would never expect to be called patient! Today was the first time that I had the opportunity to speak with Taz. I had given him some quotes from a book I was reading. It spoke of how our soul craves God. He said that there were several things that he really liked. Ryan is a new guy. He doesn't say much but is always listening and quietly smiles at different comments that are made.
Wednesday (3/19)
Mystery Angel has left bottle water on my desk...Thank you!
Gaye is back in the saddle!! She sent homemade brownies!!
Rick gets a call from Danny and Maggie who stays at another site. They were ran out of their camp and lost everything. They had slept in the rain and were in big need of help. Maggie is in a wheelchair and Danny is always their to take care of her. We picked up a coat and blanket from the Goodwill and Rick bought some T-shirts that were on sale. When we got to them, they were working the intersection. The wind was blowing and she was so very cold sitting in that wheelchair in wet clothes. We helped her into the coat and a pair of knitted gloves and wrapped her in the blanket. It helped some. Rick ministered to Danny off on the side. We all gathered together and prayed. We just prayed. He is a faithful God and I know He heard and will answer. Faith has to step in at this point because my logic doesn't understand the how and the why of this world.
The Cove: Hopper-Ryan-Taz-Mary-Rabbit
We brought the brownies and T-shirts to our special group of friends. Mary pulled me aside and asked for prayer. She knows that she needs to stop drinking. She is having health problems and should be going to the hospital for a check. We prayed together. I got to tell ya...Jesus walked among large crowds like this everyday...
