Dear Diary...

I haven't written since the news about Pops. I received a sweet email from his cousin saying that the funeral was small yet sincere. She said that the preacher spoke of the Sandwich Crew and she was sure that we would have been pleased at what was said.

Church at the Cove is doing well. Andy is so faithful to show up each week and do what we have all been told to do...Go and Tell. Sunday was special. After Biker Church, JJ and I were given some bread to take to the Cove. We had the privilege to take along some folks who had not met our friends yet. Andy was just about to leave as we were walking up. It was good to see him. Jack has a bicycle now and said that he had rode to Jonestown and back...trust me...that's a ride! Mary, Taz, Teresa, Vinny and Rabbit were there. It was Teresa's birthday and she was sick and it was not a very happy day. Rabbit was in better shape than usual...saying that he is down to only 3 beers a day. It's funny how the alcoholic mind works. The truth is...as long as there is even a teaspoon of booze in your system...you are not getting better. I am qualified to say so. I look forward to the day that Rabbit will understand that. Vinny was in one of his good moods. It was Taz who made special effort to greet me with a hug.

It was good for me to watch our friends who came with us meet the Cove folks. I looked over and saw Irma just standing with Mary and holding hands with her. Sharon was talking and visiting and Jean actively listening to all conversation...I know her enough to know that she was praying over each one as they spoke. I have become familiar with the Cove folks and have lost the sensitivity that I had in the beginning. Taking new visitors to meet them restored some lost compassion...for that, I am grateful.
