Nasty cold rainy day....

Did I mention it was a nasty cold rainy day? Rick went across the street to get a box of hot chicken. Everyone is there all bundled up...except for Vinny wearing a sweater shirt. He says he is from New York and this weather does not bother him. I teased him by calling him a crazy Yankee! He was in a talkative upbeat mood. He told me about this guy who drives by everyday and yells out the window..."GET A JOB"...then gases the car and takes off. Vinny wonders if this guy thinks that Vinny is going to run the car down or something. We had a good time laughing about what this guy must be like...so our message to him today is thanks for the laugh and we hope you get in a better mood!! Rick shows up with the chicken and we had a tailgate party and I gotta tell ya...that's good chicken! As we are munching chicken and dancing around to stay warm...a car pulls up and hands several bags of supplies for our friends. All kinds of food and stuff for them.

Mary says that ever since we have been coming around...all kinds of blessings like this has been happening. How cool is that? I said that's because we all hang with Jesus! She also said that she met a lady at the laundry mat who lived in a trailer that relatives had provided for her. She had lost everything and if not for them putting her into the trailer...she would be on the streets. Mary invited her to Church at the Cove and she said that she would be there! Again I ask...How cool it that??!! Teresa is such a neat lady. I had a hooded wind breaker on and she was fixing the string on the hood for me. I felt like a little kid standing there while she adjusted my jacket. She has allot of love and a sweet heart to keep it in. Susie is not feeling well these days. The night before she experienced numbness on her left side and blacked out for a minute. It scared her but not quite enough to go to emergency room. I told her that the booze and cigarettes really need to go. I know that is not an easy thing to hear. The Bible says we are the temple...we all need to remember how important it is to take care of our body. My prayer for all of us is for God to help remove the desire we have for the things that harm us.

The Edge:

One of the twins, either Harry or Larry, was on the corner. Rick jumped out and took a couple of lunches to him. He said that Pop would be there later.

That was it for the day...not many out in this weather. And it is now even colder since then. God please provide supernatural protection for these people. In Jesus Name.
